March 2010
Spring is definitely here. Hooray! I know this, because one of my least favourite plants, Forsythia, is out in its full glory of gaudy yellow flowers. That along with seas of yellow daffodils (which I actually quite like) fills my heart with joy and optimism for a long hot summer. Well you've got to dream once in a while.
However, the joys of Spring is also a strong reminder that Chelsea is just around the corner and all the last minute preparations have to be completed so we're ready to go. We're still tweaking the water feature to absolute perfection, but apart from that everything else is fine. It's still nice to know that the staff are as excited as ever about building at Chelsea again. I think the design by Thomas Hoblyn is fantastic and well worth a visit if you're going to the show. The garden is on main avenue, plot number MA24 and sponsored by F&C Investment.
Our current projects are busy catching up to speed after all the awful weather we had at the start of the year. Gavin and Peter have nearly finished a stunning garden in Cheam, Surrey, designed by Marcus Barnett.
Alex, Ali, Steve and Matt have been travelling everyday to Great Chart, just outside Ashford in Kent, where they're building a magnificent seven acre medieval garden, also designed by Marcus Barnett.
Dan, Little Dave, Mark and Oliver are working on a fantastically designed garden in Horsham for Andy Sturgeon with a lot of sawn bespoke cut stone paving with contrasting local Horsham stone drystone walling.

Have a great Easter!
