October 2009

What a glorious month September was weather wise. I think I used my own garden over the past four weeks more than I have done the rest of the year combined.

The final phase for our project in The Haven, near Billingshurst, which has been designed by Nigel Philips, is due to finish at the end of this month. This has been the largest garden we have built, some of it extremely complicated with changes and variations on a regular basis to contend with. However, the finished result is going to be stunning.

The garden in Dorking, Surrey, is also due to finish in the next couple of weeks. This has been designed by Jill Fenwick and has involved huge curved brick retaining walls, beautifully detailed stone terraces and a new small garage built into the bank has been finished with a green roof.

Last week I had to visit a company in Holland with Tom Hoblyn to look at the material with which we are building the walls at The Chelsea Flower Show next year. All I can say at this stage is that it has never been used before in the UK and I didn't believe you could bend stone until I saw it with my own eyes!

Our next newsletter shall be posted in November 2009, but in the meantime, please don't hesitate to contact us to discuss any projects you would like us to build for you.
