Why Us?

David Dodd

David, the founder of The Outdoor Room, is responsible for building many Chelsea Gold's and is a recipient of other industry Awards. He trained and lectured at Merrist Wood and now teaches construction at The Inchbald School of Design as well as giving workshops and lectures for The Society of Garden Designers. David is also due to run a two day course at The English Gardening School in 2010.

1996 The Outdoor Room becomes a limited company, doubling turnover in the first year

1997 The company moves to Chessington Garden Centre

2000 The Outdoor Room becomes a registered trademark

2004 The Outdoor Room becomes a full member of BALI (British Association of Landscape Industries)

2005 Winners of two National BALI Awards

2006 Gold Medal at RHS Hampton Court for Volvo. Designed by Thomas Hoblyn
